i am inside the mix

It will be my daughter Elliott’s 1st Birthday this saturday (excuse me for a moment while I faint). She was born on February 9th, 2012. I can’t believe it has already been a year. What a ride it has been and I am anticipating a great year two with her! She has brought so much light into my life and I can’t imagine my world without her. Becoming a mom really changed my outlook on a lot of things and changed my world completely. All for the better. Parenthood is one of the hardest things, but also one of the most rewarding. I never wanted to be a parent before Elliott because of all those fears that come along with being a parent. Now that she is hear it is worth all the risks it takes to be a parent. God truly blessed me with the most wonderful, outgoing, happy, and energetic little girl! 

I started thinking about her birthday party months in advance and I knew right away I wanted a Winnie the Pooh theme. Because she loves her some Pooh Bear. After that decision I felt pretty lost, how in the world do you plan a first birthday party? What do you even do beside let the little one demolish a cake. In the beginning the party was going to have many attendee’s but ended up decided on just a small family get together to keep it stress free and less overwhelming for Ellie. Party hats were a definite must because who doesn’t love party hats?! I wanted to make party hats Winnie the Pooh characters. I got the idea from my Nieces birthday party last July, where they took party hats and put black Mickey Mouse ears on them. My sister-in-law Rachel (check out her blog The Art of Blank) who did a masterful job with the Tigger hats! Cake will be Winnie the Pooh cupcakes which hopefully turn out as cute as I imagine. Snacks and a few games for us adults and activities for the kids should make the event a fun time for everybody. I can’t wait to share this exciting mile-stone with family and just have a fun easy going time.

So I have been wanting to use this as a blog for quite some time. I mean that is why I created it, just haven’t gotten around to using it. As for those of you who know me I love to talk a lot and always have something to say. God has radically changed my life as of late and I want to share some of those things. Also I want to share this adventure I have embarked on called momhood. Yes I am a mother and so far it is wonderful. My daughter is wonderful! But I pretty much want to write about anything and everything. I’ll try to keep it interesting! I used to blog a lot back in the days when ‘BlogSpot’ was the cool thing to do.
